Peoples & Peoples Funeral Directors, LLC located at 114 South Pine Street Pamplico, SC was established in 1955 as the Pamplico Funeral Home. In the late 1960s the name changed to People’s Funeral Home.
Peoples & Peoples has proudly served Pamplico, SC and the surrounding areas for 70 years. Its primary vision was and still remains to always be a service to the community and be there for families during a time of loss and provide professional first class quality services to meet the needs of everyone.
People’s Funeral Home was founded by the late Rev. John Stewart, Rev Dr. Oscar Eugene “ O E “ Jackson, Professor Rudolph Jones, Mr. L. B. Brown, Mrs. Minda Bartell, Mr. Andrew Munnerlyn, the firm named Mr. Charlie “ C H” Timmons as the Licensed Funeral Director and Manager, and Mr. Walter L. Dimery as the Licensed Embalmer.
These were strong men and women who had vision, and identified a need for a qualified funeral home and took action.
In 1975 Mr. Moses P. Smoot was named the Manager and Mortician and remained in that position until his passing of July 2015.
Upon the death of Mr. Moses P. Smoot, Mr. Kenyatta King became the President and Sole Proprietor of the company in October of 2015. Mr. King changed the name to People's Funeral Directors. In February 2016, Mr. King's Great Uncle Mr. Phillip Moe King joined as a partner in the business. In July 2017, Mr. Lawrence T. James became the Managing Director and in late 2019, he started planning a full renovation to better serve the community. In 2020, the pandemic hit and the process was slowed down. The full complete renovation of the funeral home was completed in December 2024. In March 2023, Mr. Frederick Davis was named the Managing Director. We at Peoples & Peoples Funeral Directors promise to uphold the highest standards and professionalism with every family we serve.
