Obituary
Zelma Willie Mae Robinson Krank was born April 19, 1943 to the late Sampson “Curly” Robinson Sr. and Violet Cain Robinson in Florence County. On February 23, 2015, she was called home to take her eternal rest.
Zelma attended the public schools of Florence County.
In 1960, at the age of 16, she migrated to New York City where she found work and looked forward to a new start and better opportunity.
In 1963, Zelma married Douglas Krank. She was a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend.
She was a friend to many. She never turned anyone away and never judged anyone. She treated everyone as her own. She truly cared about people and loved life to the fullest. Education was important to her. She made sure that her children learned and taught them about trusting in the Lord and reading the bible.
In 1997, she moved to Gastonia, NC where she lived happily with her family until her demise.
Zelma was always dedicated to her family and was always positive. Her love was so strong that it was abundantly reciprocated with love and affection from her family and especially her children.
She is preceded in death by her father (Sampson “Curly” Robinson Sr.), mother (Violet Cain Robinson), sister (Liza Strong), brother (Cleveland Robinson), sister (Verdall Graham), and sister (Arnetha McWhite).
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: her husband (Douglas Krank) of Gastonia, NC. Two sons (Tyrone Krank and Jerry Krank) of Gastonia, NC. Two daughters (Tammy Thomas and Tasha Krank) of Gastonia, NC. 11 grandchildren: (Dyquane Krank, Levor Krank, Jiarod Krank, Tierra Thomas, Mercedes Thomas, Amad Moore, Isaiah Moore, Chanda Ratchford, Chantel Ratchford) all of Gastonia, NC. And grand daughters: (Ashanti Krank and Alicia Krank) of New York, NY. And two great grandchildren: (Tyler Krank and Taylor Krank) of Gastonia, NC. Also, her brother: (Sampson Robinson Jr.) of New York, NY, and sister: (Margaret Lou Weekfall) of Pamplico, SC. Also, some very special nephews, nieces, cousins, close friends and family.
