Robert Earl Lane

Robert Earl Lane was born on July 18, 1956, In Florence, SC, to the late Eddie Listen and Sarah Jane Jackson Lane he departed this life on February 9, 2023, after a brief illness.

Robert officially known as “ Cat In The Hat” was Educated in the Public School System of Florence County, SC., and was a proud 1974 graduate of Wilson High School and was self-employed as a landscaper for many years.

He was a member of Monumental Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev Dr. Vandroth Backus, Sr.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son Te’ Rod Williams, and a grandson Jamison Rainey.

He leaves to cherish his memories are his toe loving daughters: Kimberly ( James ) Rainey of Columbia, SC Brionna Graham of Ft. Lauderdale, FL four grandchildren: Kaylh Rainey, James Rainey, Jr. Zion Williams, and Sincere Williams, three loving brothers: Mitchell ( Janette) Lane of Florence, SC, Michael ( Gloria ) Lane of Myrtle Beach, SC, My’ Kia Thompson of Florence, SC. Two sisters: Sharon ( Joseph) Rapley of Port Charlotte, FL, Belinda ( Johnnie) Cordero of Columbia, SC three aunts; Margaret ( Otis ) Waiters, Clemmie Bacote, Cathrine Jackson, two special friends Lamar Brown and Linda Bennett Davis. A host of loving nieces, nephews relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday February 16, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Maxwell Baptist Church

1309 Malloy Street Florence, South Carolina the Reverend Kippie Brown, Pastor burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Florence, South Carolina.
