Timmonsville, South Carolina

On August 12, 2021, Staff Sergeant Leamon Reddin heard the Father’s voice and answered his

call to come on home and rest from his labor below and received his heavenly award.

Born to the late Jim and Martha Boykin Reddin in Raleigh, NC, Staff Sergeant Reddin was best

known for his compassionate spirit, the love he had for his family, and his years of service.

A Vietnam War Veteran, Leamon served in the United States Army from 1967 un7l his military

service retirement in 1984. He was employed at Francis Marion University for several years and officially retired from work after employment at the Florence County Detention Center.

He was joined in matrimony to the late Mrs. Jannie J. Reddin on November 3, 1967. Theyjourneyed through life together for 33 years, always connected. You never saw one without the other. Through this union, they were blessed with one child. after the passing of his wife, he met his significant other of 21 years, Jannebe Nowlin.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Elder Dan Reddin, Sr., James Reddin, Leon Reddin, Stacy Reddin, and Ellis Newton; two sisters: Martha R. Veal and Shirley Perry; and one son-in-law, Maurice Simon.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter Vanessa R. (Eric) Bowman of Timmonsville, SC; his companion of 21 years Jannebe Nowlin of Timmonsville, SC; two grandchildren, Jessie Hickmon Jr. and Valerie Hickmon of Timmonsville, SC;  two additional grandchildren that he reared as his own, Regina N. Nelson and Jessica S. Moore of Timmonsville, SC; three sisters-in-law; Mother Pearline H. Reddin of Timmonsville, SC, Emma L. James of Florence, SC, and Annie P. Newton of Clinton, NC; 16 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friend
