Willie Solomon Davis was born on November 12, 1929, in Florence County to the late Kaminski Ellis and the late Viola Davis Belin.
Willie was educated in Florence County, SC where he attended grade school through 8th grade. He was employed by Charles Ingram Lumber Company for more than 40 years when he retired.
Willie was a longtime member of St Mark AME Church, Kingsburg, SC, where he attended faithfully until his health declined. He was a member of the male chorus, Usher Board, Steward Emeritus, vital member of the food ministry, and St Mark AME Masonic Lodge #271.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Loretta Davis-Knight, and the following siblings: Annie Mae Davis Hardin, Leola Lewis, Lula Bardon and Andrew “Bud” Belin.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Quincey Davis, of the home; his loving children, Lacardo (Laura) Davis of Pamplico, SC, Michelle Davis of Chandler, AZ, and Larry (Donna) Davis of Rogersville, AL; a sister, Carolyn Hyman of Florence, SC; and a brother, Verland (Louise) Goss of Hemingway, SC; seven grandchildren, Tyler Davis of Greenville, SC, Millicent Vereen of Effingham, SC, Jasmine Davis of Orlando, FL, Ariel and Amilliyon Davis of Hinesville, GA, Mackenzie Davis of Florence, SC, and Larry (LJ) Davis Jr of Rogersville, AL; a special niece and nephew: Verlie Mae Stuckey of Johnsonville, SC, and Richard Lewis of Johnsonville, SC; special friends: Robert and Joan Vereen of Effingham, SC; friends and coworkers from Charles Ingram Lumber and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that he loved.
