Mr.Lonnie Davis

September 5, 1933 — August 20, 2018

​Mr. Lonnie Davis, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 20, 2018 at McLeod Hospital in Florence, South Carolina. He was born September 5, 1933 in Pamplico, South Carolina to the late Julis and Claudia B. Davis.




​At an early age, Lonnie accepted Christ and joined Mill Branch A.M.E. Church. He attended the public schools of Florence County and graduated from Wilson High School. On December 28, 1955 he wed the love of his life Rev. Susan B. Davis and they moved to New York City, where he worked with the New York Amtrak Railroad System and as a Truck Driver. While living in Manhattan, New York he was a member of Saint John A.M.E. Church where he served on the Usher Board. After moving his residence to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he and his devoted spouse joined Saint James Tabernacle where he served on the deacon board. After retiring in 2002, he moved his residence back to Pamplico, South Carolina and renewed his membership with Mill Branch A.M.E. Church where he served on the usher board and was a faithful member also he was a member of the Masonic Lodge 131 and Eastern Star 107 until his health declined.




​Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Davis.




​Lonnie leaves to cherish his memories: A devoted, loving and caring wife Rev. Susan B. Davis; one sister Letha (Alphonso) Parker; one brother Melvin Davis both of Florence, South Carolina; three sisters-in-law Evangelist Anise Wingfield of Scranton, South Carolina; Edith Mae Davis of Columbia, South Carolina and Linda Becoat of Manhattan New York; two brothers-in-law Rev. James Becoat of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Rev. Dr. A. C. Robinson, of Pamplico, South Carolina; a special brother Steward Sylvester (Georgia) Davis of Pamplico, South Carolina; spiritual daughters Paulette Timmons, Denise Guiles, Joan L. Belin, Betty Joe Judge, Maggie Nettles & Barbara Davis; a host of goddaughters, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
