Mary Drayton

Mrs. Mary D. Drayton  was born March 19, 1927, a daughter of the late Tom and Mary Munnerlyn Taylor. She departed this life on June 2, 2010, at Faith Health Care Facility after a chronic illness. 

Mrs. Drayton was a 1969 graduate of Gibbs High School. At an early age she was a member of St. James Free Will Baptist Church and later joined Aimwell Baptist Church, where she served at the President of Missionary Society, Senior and Gospel Choirs. She was a member of Easter Star Lodge #354. 

She was preceded in death, other than her parents, by her husband, John Drayton; daughters, Mary L. Thomas and Gail D. Drayton; and brother, Freeman Taylor. Her employment was with Electric Motor and Home Health Care provider. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, sons John Taylor and Roy (Roberta) Drayton of Pamplico, daughters, Ear (Allen) James and Mary (Joseph) Orgbon of Florence, SC and Sue D. (Rudolph) Green of Charlotte, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grand-children; a special niece and a nephew, Barbara and Larry Drayton. Eastern Star rites will be held 7:30 pm Wedenesday at the church. The family is receiving friends at the residence, 115 Drayton Lane, Pamplico.
