Mr. Harold MacArthur Haynesworth, “The Maestro”, a Chief Musician in his own right traded his earthly tabernacle and his keyboard and Hammond B3 Organ to receive eternal rest at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia SC.
Mac Arthur was the youngest of four children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold “Bo Pete” (Mary “Jackie” Hines) Haynesworth on December 10, 1971 in Florence, SC. He was also preceded to eternal rest by his wife- Rosa Haynesworth who transitioned on September 12, 2018,
The soul and spirit of Mac as songster and musician were an extension of his Meadow Prong Baptist Church roots and his mother’s family roots at Salem United Methodist Church.
Mac was born into a strong Christian, and musical family, and his faith walk began at Meadow Prong Baptist Church, and he fellowshipped with countless other ministries as a musician, or Minister of Music, and before his transition, he was a member and Minister of Music of New Hope Baptist Church, Millen, Georgia.
Mac received many awards, accolades and recognitions for his work in music, and in 2017 he received the prestigious SC Gospel Music Legion Award. On August 11, 2018, he received a Proclamation from the City of Millen, Georgia for his Exemplary Family and Community Service, which was one of his proudest moments.
“Mac” was a 1990 graduate of West Florence High School, and he attended Voorhees College and Denmark Technical College. He worked in the family business, Haynesworth Concrete Finishing Company, and his last employment was with Allied University Security Company.
“Mac,” would say his proudest accomplishment was his one and only daughter, MyAshia Shannette Haynesworth, which he was so proud of all her accomplishments and accolades. He was really proud of her being the Wilson High School Class of 2019 Senior Class President, and graduating from the Wilson High School Early College at Florence-Darlington Technical, and preparing to graduate from Wilson High School on June 7, 2019.
