Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 KJV
To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that, which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Elbert Davis JR was born February 16, 1959 to the late Edward Davis and Julia Mae Bostick in Florence South Carolina. He was affectionately called JR, Wolfman, Santa Claus, and Big Time Elbert. He went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday January 9, 2022 at MUSC of Florence. He graduated from Hannah Pamplico class of 1978. He worked at Claire Construction Company where he used his many talentsto build houses. He worked at Marsh Lumber Company and Jack White for a numerous of years. At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and became a member of St. Luke AME Church. He loved listening to Pastor Gino Jennings, riding his scooter while flying the American Flag, and watching Westerns. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboy Fan. All people die, but not all people live. Elbert Lived! To know him was to love him! You always hear him call his sweet wife name loudly “Ella Mae”!
He was preceded in death by: his loving parents Edward and Julia Mae Davis; Brother Johnny Davis, oldest son Edward Davis, granddaughter Baby Girl Davis, youngest son Brian Davis, and a niece Crystal Davis. He leaves to cherish his precious memories withhis wife Ella Mae James Davis; daughter Jessica McFadden (Brice); daughter Julia Mae Davis (Willie) sister Etta Ellison (Fred); Brother Laverne Davis (Pearline) mother-in law Ella Mae James; brother in law’s Roosevelt James; David James; David Lewis;and a sister in law Katie Lewis, brother in law Elder Joey Lewis. He loved his grandchildren Tye’Bryant Messiaha Smith known as Nuke: Brizaisha McFadden known as Botee. He is expecting two moregrandchildren known as Baby Bam Bino and Baby Blui. He made sure to provide all his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews with nicknames. He loved his devoted niece Latonia Washington (Ernie) and nephew Fredrick Lamont Ellison (Clarissa). He had a host of great aunts, uncles nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who he loved dearly.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 15, 2022 at St. Luke A. M. E. Church Cemetery 539 Chinaberry Road Johnsonville, South Carolina
