Alex Winston

Mr. Alex Winston, son of Mrs. Alma Mae McElveen Winston and the late Mr. Otis Thomas Winston, was born on November 25, 1966 in Jamaica, New York. Alex was employed for many years with Aquaduct Raceway, Jamaica, New York. Alex recently moved to Florence, South Carolina to live with his mother due to illness. On Sunday January 6, 2019 Alex answered God’s call and transitioned from labor to reward.

Alex was educated in the public schools of Jamaica, New York. At a young age Alex joined the Free Wheel Baptist Church of Jamaica, NY.

Alex was preceded in death by his father. Grandparents George and Agusta McEveen and John Ruben and Reba Winston and numerous Aunts and Uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memory his faithful Mother Alma Mae McElveen Winston, of the home his brothers, Steven (Courtney) Winston of Birmingham, Alabama, and Daniel (Tracey) McMillian of Pamplico, South Carolina; God-brothers David Pettigrew of Atlanta, Georgia, and Thurmand ( Linda) Becote, god-sisters , Geloria Woodberry, Peggy Brooks, and Catha Boyde, two aunts, Starlean McWhite of Pamplico, SC and Helen McElveen, of Florence, SC and numerous other family and friends who will truly miss him.
