The family of Brother Shonn "Black" Jackson, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, the family has decided to hold 50 people or less,funeral service for their loved one. While the Jackson family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. Mr. Shonn “Black” Jackson was born on December 27, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Mrs. Curtis Mae (Willie) Jackson Mitchell and Mr. Clayton Robinson. He departed this life on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at his home following a long but well fought illness. Mr. Jackson attended the public schools of New York, New York and relocated to Florence, South Carolina in 1990 where he continued his love for life.
Shonn was employed by Carpet Care as a supervisor and Jones Roofing Services.
He had a passion for carpentry, cars, cooking, fishing, dancing and music. Shonn adored WEtv, movies, and absolutely loved being silly. Making people laugh was one of the many things he was best at. He loved everyone, especially family.
Shonn was preceded in death by two sisters, Miss. Margie Jackson and Mrs. Deborah J. Scott Howie, one Aunt Mrs. Annie Mae (Jessie) Mitchell and one Uncle Mr. Leroy Sanders, one niece and five nephews.
Shonn leaves to cherish his memory: seven daughters, Leora C.Jackson of Tampa, FL, Dashonna K. Jackson and Shakira J. Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Jaden C. Johnson of Lamar, South Carolina; two sons Nashonn J. Jackson of Tampa, Florida and Davian E. Johnson of Lamar, South Carolina; Kiki K. Wright, Catherine T. Johnson, and Maegan B. Leak all of Florence, South Carolina; five grandchildren Charlotte S. Jordan and London A. Jackson of Tampa, Florida, Mia I. Rodriguez of Gibsonton, Florida, Lyric K. Allen, Sky’On Ellis, and Jasiel Bethea all of Florence South Carolina; four sisters Mrs. Lillian (George) Smith of Far Rockaway New York, Mrs. Janice (Robin) Davis, Mrs. Mattie (Robert) Morton, and Miss. Regina Jackson all of Florence South Carolina; one brother Mr. Richard Jackson of Florence South Carolina; one God child Challenge Coleman of Darlington, South Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.
