Obituary

Mr. Harold MacArthur Haynesworth, “The Maestro”, a Chief Musician in his own right traded his earthly tabernacle and his keyboard and Hammond B3 Organ to receive eternal rest at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia SC.
Mac Arthur was the youngest of four children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold “Bo Pete” (Mary “Jackie” Hines) Haynesworth on December 10, 1971 in Florence, SC. He was also preceded to eternal rest by his wife- Rosa Haynesworth who transitioned on September 12, 2018,
The soul and spirit of Mac as songster and musician were an extension of his Meadow Prong Baptist Church roots and his mother’s family roots at Salem United Methodist Church.
Mac was born into a strong Christian, and musical family, and his faith walk began at Meadow Prong Baptist Church, and he fellowshipped with countless other ministries as a musician, or Minister of Music, and before his transition, he was a member and Minister of Music of New Hope Baptist Church, Millen, Georgia.
Mac received many awards, accolades and recognitions for his work in music, and in 2017 he received the prestigious SC Gospel Music Legion Award. On August 11, 2018, he received a Proclamation from the City of Millen, Georgia for his Exemplary Family and Community Service, which was one of his proudest moments.
“Mac” was a 1990 graduate of West Florence High School, and he attended Voorhees College and Denmark Technical College. He worked in the family business, Haynesworth Concrete Finishing Company, and his last employment was with Allied University Security Company.
“Mac,” would say his proudest accomplishment was his one and only daughter, MyAshia Shannette Haynesworth, which he was so proud of all her accomplishments and accolades. He was really proud of her being the Wilson High School Class of 2019 Senior Class President, and graduating from the Wilson High School Early College at Florence-Darlington Technical, and preparing to graduate from Wilson High School on June 7, 2019.

Left to cherish his precious memories are: one daughter, MyAshia Haynesworth of Florence, SC.; one sister, Dianne (Oriter “Skeet”) Jennings of Columbia, SC.; mother of his daughter, Nannette Haynesworth; two step-sons, Brandon Thomas and Kion Clark; one nephew, Victor Flemming; three nieces, Tiona Haynesworth, Nicole Haynesworth, and Cierra Jennings; one grand-niece, MaKiyah Flemming; five aunts, Lear Lee Murray, Celestine Haynesworth, Helena McClellan, Barbara (Joseph Wayne) McAllister, Martha Cooper; five uncles, LaVern (Ora Lee) Haynesworth, Elijah (Rebecca) Haynesworth, Frank (Betty) Haynesworth; Sammie (Joyce) Cooper, Clarence (Saundra) Godbolt all of Florence, SC; one grand- aunt, Eula Mae Cummings, one special brother, Larry Crawford; two God-children, Alexis D. Pipkins, Jr. and Acquanette Green; special friends are: Joe Ham, Shawn (Margaret) Huggins, Abdjul Martin, LeRand (Helen) McFadden, Marilyn Pinckney, Daphine Parker, Alexis D. (LaDonna) Pipkins, Sr., Joan Simmons, Robert Williams and countless community brothers and sisters; a host of cousins, friends, and choir members; fellow choir directors and musicians.

The family are receiving friends at the home 911 Sanborn Street Florence, SC 12pm-9pm

In Lieu of Flowers, the family is asking that Monetary Contribution be made to his daughter Scholarship fund- MyAsia Haynesworth

Will never forget the love, exceptional gifts MacArthur shared and unselfishly gave to the St. Philip A.M.E. Church's Praise team, Foundation Choir and "High Praise." We, indeed, enjoyed the beautiful music taught us, and the ministry that he gave and lifted for us and through us, to minister to God's people. Wow! We are missing and will always remember MacArthur, our "Maestro."

Cousin “Mack” we are going to miss you. You are a “sound track of our lives.” God birthed you as a family maestro (And I mean an awesome one!). You have represented the Haynesworth family here on earth as it is in heaven.
“The middle eight, the interlude, the melody, the beat, the build, the drop” wow you made it pop!” Play on and sing on in glory “Mack.”

In loving memory from,
Cheryl Kasey

Sincere condolences to the family. Although it maybe hard to see past the pain and sorrow, know that Almighty God can change your tears of sorrow into ones of joy by means of the resurrection (Isaiah 26:19).
