Moses P. Smoot was born on June 15, 1942 to the late Emma Wright Smoot and Charlie Smoot, Sr. Moses was born and raised in Florence, SC. He attended Carver Elementary and Wilson High Schools, graduating in 1960. He furthered his education at embalming school graduating with honors. His father trained him to become a Master Brick Mason and he operated Smoot's Masonry up until his illness and during his illness he still kept others employed until the very end. Moses really enjoyed his professions and shared with many his generosity. He served as licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for Peoples Funeral Home of Pamplico where he employed an excellent Staff of high quality courteous workers. Moses departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 25, 2015 after a brief chronic illness. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of the home Annette Bartell Smoot; son Linwood (JoAn) Givens; granddaughters, Lindsey, Jada and Jordan Givens; sisters, Ida Mae Davis of Florence, SC, Mary McAllister of Evergreen, SC, Annie Lois Keith and Vermell (Robert) Hendriex, Jr. both of Florence, SC.; sisters-in-law, Margarie Smoot, Madeline, Eula, Gwen, Eardine and Daisy; brothers-in-law, Harry Bartell, Richard, Randolph, Ray, Rufus, and Sidney; A whole lot of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends. Moses was preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie L. Smoot, Jr, Edward L. Smoot, Franklin D. Smoot, two sisters, Louise Smoot Swinney and Emma A. Smoot. We love you Moses, you fought hard to stay here and you will be missed very, very much...... Your Loving, Caring Family
