Obituary for Franklin Elont Roosevelt Smoot

Franklin D. R. Elton Roosevelt Smoot died Sunday, August 31, 2014 in The Lexington Extended Care in Lexington, SC after a chronic illness. He was born in Florence County, on April 29, 1940 a son of the late Charlie Smoot Sr. and Emma Wright Smoot. Was the 8th child of nine.

At the age of three after his mother passing his remarried to Ms. Emma Williams and she. Became instrumental in rearing frank. There was one daughter added to this family because she had one daughter at that time making a total of 10 children. He was educated in the Florence County Schools and was a Master Brick Mason Contractor. He was a member of Palmetto Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Swinney and Emma Smoot; two brothers Charlie Smoot Jr. and Edward Smoot.

Surviving are his wife Daisy Smoot; daughter, Frankie (Isiah) Felder of Lexington, SC; stepson James Gordon grandson Jabari Felder; four granddaughters, Ivanna Felder, Brianah Felder, Nadia Felder and Lydia Felder; brother Moses (Annette) Smoot; four sisters, Ida Mae Davis of Florence, Mary McAllister of Effingham, Annie L. Keith and Vermell (Robert) Hendriex of Florence; 7 other grandchildren 6 great grandchildren many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
