Life Reflections

Vernon McWhite was born on August 3, 1936 in Florence County to the late Ola McWhite & Janie Eaddy McWhite. He departed this life on Thursday April 25, 2013 at his residence.


Mr.McWhite attended the public schools of Florence County at anearly age he became a member of the St.Luke A.M.E. Church. He was also a member of the Kingsburg Masonic Lodge 171.

He was employed at the Wellman of Johnsonville, SC for 42 years. He was also a partner of McWhite Brothers.

Mr.McWhite was joined in holy matrimony to the late Yvonne McWhite. They were blessed to have eight children. Two preceded him in death, Martha Belinda Skinner and Steven Ola McWhite.

Vernon leaves to cherish his memories: four sons, Calvin (Iola) Allison of Florence, SC, Levern Skinner of Johnsonville,SC, Vernon II (Gina) McWhite of Fayetteville, NC, and Stanley (Cindy ) McWite of Pamplico,SC; two daughters Stephanie ( Eddie) Woodbury of Norflolk, VA and Stacy (Richard) Graham of Johnsonville, SC; one daughter in law, Susan McWhite; one brother, John George ( Doris) McWhite of Johnsonville,SC, two sisters, Loretta Brown of East Orange, NJ; Lois ( Jessie ) Davis of Johnsonville,SC; four sister - in- laws, Adell Key and Johnnie Perkins of Florence,SC, Martha Gerona Wright of Johnsonville,SC; Lily B. Williamson of Florence, SC; fourteen grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
